You Ain’t Nobody Till Somebody Loves You
Step into a story that began as a screenplay and blossomed into a novel over two decades in the making. I Do… is a deeply moving tale of love, friendship, and the quiet moments that shape our lives. Set against the soulful of Los Angeles, this novel follows Josh Galloway – a charming, complex man with a secret heart – and the two women who anchor his world: Jane, his longlife best friend, and Abena, the fiery cafe owner who sees through it all.
Told with cinematic flair and emotional depth, I Do… is a celebration of pure love in all its forms-unspoken, unconditional, and unforgettable.
Whether you’re a romantic at heart, a lover of character-driven stories, or someone chasing your own creative dream, this book will speak to your soul.
The Journey
Completing this novel is no different than me baking a cake… and neither of them are my professions. The difference? I could probably learn to bake a decent cake in only two to three days, but writing this novel took me more than seven years.
The story I Do… began over twenty years ago, back in 2002, when I set out to produce my 1st independent movie. I dedicated most of my time, and pretty much all of my money to researching the story in the best way I knew—by travelling, observing, and meeting incredible people from all walks of life.
Through it all, one theme kept standing out. No matter who I spoke to or where they were from, there was one subject almost everyone talked about: PURE LOVE.
The Journey Comes Alive
What Readers Are Saying
“This is one of those rare novels I want to tuck into my summer luggage and take away with me to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket and dream about all my lost loves. It’s a page turner; one of those novels I just need to keep reading to find out what happens next. A.P has written such a wonderful love story, I could smell the roses on every pages. I want to re-read this book and savour its every word. It’s a book I WANT to pack for my summer reading, I Do… I Do…”
~ Imelda Murphy, Playwright/Poet, New Hampshire USA.
“In a tender and yet powerful story A.P has kept her central theme alive: ‘We do not discover love, love discovers us.’ So, who are we to judge or criticize love, any love? One can only turn the pages of this beautiful novel and learn, hopefully one more time, the poetry and magic of true love”
~ Daniele J Suissa, Film Producer & Director.
“There have been many films that deal with Language of Love. Titanic, Romeo & Juliet, Black Swan, Brokeback Moutain, The Englist Patient and Ghost. But no film has ever captured the Love that is in the film I Do . It is a Love that challenge all the feelings of two people who are truly in LOVE.”
~ Fred Caruso, Producer Hollywood. USA.
~ David J. Phillips, Actor & Film Producer.
“A.P has written a poignant novel on love with all its finest and worst moments. For a person whose preference has been for non-fiction, I found ”I Do…” to be a very refreshing read filled with meaningful portrayals of human behaviour. The story illustrates so well the reality that love is never at the expected state of perfection, but to have experienced love has always been the raison d’être of our existence.”
~ Emmannuel Stroobant, Celebrity Chef in Black.
“”I Do” is a gentle journey of self-discovery – of finding out what love truly means and what lengths we are willing to go to for love. It is a story of how friendships and love are just two sides of the same coin. “I Do” will challenge what you think love is all about in this dramatic tale infused with dashes of humour. You will never think of love in quite the same way again. Well done, AP!.”
~ Sharon Saw, Writer, Malaysia.
~ Chihiro Ogawa, International Painter, Owner of Paint & Gild.
“AP, in her novel, has grasped that ‘Love’ is a complex and multifaceted emotion. ‘I Do’ is a beautifully tragic read. Deep affection, selflessness, and sacrifice linger long after the last page. Not a conventional romance, but a powerful exploration of longing and loss. So proud of you AP!
