Live your life, do your work, then take your hat.
I am glad Jack and I managed to bring Pa to pay his last respect to his beloved sister, Tan Chick Lan. Yup.. it’s not very near but thousand miles away, Canberra.
The long hours for Pa to travel in planes, especially when he could only move with wheelchair, not an easy task for 3 of us to complete our journey. However, Jack and I have to grant Pa this big favor to see his elder sister for the last time. Irene and Joo couldn’t make it because of their kids and their jobs, as well the airfares were not cheap for everyone to travel. Nevertheless,Ah Bo is always stay in our heart, our thought and our prayers.. for everything she has done to support my family, my parents during our hard time. Especially when Ma was admitted in the ICU of National Heart Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
Along all siblings, I was the one who much closer to Ah Bo. She even proposed me to marry his only son, John Chong. How thoughtful and sweet Ah Bo was… But hello Ah Bo, this is 20th century, no one listens to their parents’ marriage arrangement anymore especially when come to ‘LOVE’. Sorry for that but you already knew, you always have me as your `dear daughter’. The regular long hours distance calls, even though half of the time I did not understand what you were saying, but I did enjoy just by listening to your Hainanese slang. It’s cute!
Rest in peace, Ah Bo.. I am sure you and Pa now have reunited in heaven, lots of topic to share and debate just like you both used to be on the phone, so keep that going.. as we no longer need to bear any expensive phone bills.

Having somewhere to go is home. Having someone to love is family. And having both is a blessing.
